Al-One (Post Jam Update)

A 2D platformer where you have to gather 3 diffrent crystals, from 3 different planets to power your ship and fly back home!

Controls:

  • W,S,A,D or Arrow keys for movement.
  • F for jetpack (when unlocked).
  • ESC will respawn the character.
  • Clicking on the [S] in the hand left corner will open the menu (volume sliders, credits, ect).

Production:

Made with Unity 2020.1.5f1 for a games jam over the space of 2 weeks. This is the post jam update version where I have fixed a handful of bugs and implemented some of the user feedback we recieved.

Known Issues:

Tile tearing is still an issue, I've been able to fix it in engine and on windows builds but there seems to stll be an issue with WebGL builds despite the view port dimensions being exactly the same.

Due to un-fixed jam code it's possible for the player to get stuck inside of the walls, if this happens to you press the escape key to respawn.

Hey man, that's really cool! I didn't know it was possible to fly up the wall like that, i should of put more spikes on the ceiling XD

No variable jump height, super fast movement speed, and immediate reversal of velocity in the air when trying to move in the opposite direction all combine to make for an awful controlling game.

Despite that, I really love the amount of work put into the game. And some exploits allow for sick vertical movement. Tree world and water world are both really good, however moving down does not work with the way the game plays. Lava world is a total mess (not that the others don't have their issues but lava world is definitely the buggiest).

Overall, it's fun (except for lava world) and It would be cool if the game were expanded upon.

Cheers man thanks for your feedback, I've just uploaded a new build that allows the player to respawn on command by pressing the escape key. Can you be more specific about the bugs on the Lava World?

Sorry I got back to you so late, I was definitely overexaggerating when I said "bugs." What I meant was that Lava world is not fun to play is what I meant to say. Combine the fact that you can't see where you're falling as well as the super fast character speed, and you have a level that is just NOT FUN TO PLAY.

Okay, i'll look into that. See if i can zoom the camera out when the player is falling or something.

Idk, man. The way the game is set up, it doesn't seem like downward vertical levels would work, regardless of the changes you may make.

lava world sucks. I literally got stuck in a wall after a block pushed me
